Join us for our first Augmented Reality Camp at the Inspire Centre at the University of Canberra on Thursday 7 and Friday 8 June 2012. ARcamp is a *FREE* two-day active workshop series for academics, teachers and students interested in augmented reality. If you are keen to design new opportunities for the future of education, come along and get involved. There will be hands-on workshops to develop your knowledge and skills, and networking opportunities to work with others, develop your ideas, share experiences and find new ways to build learning experiences using AR. If you know of anyone else who might be interested in coming along, feel free to forward an invitation to them.
The workshop themes for the camp are Hijack, Confront, Promote, Inspire, Inform and Annotate. Each workshop includes a practical aspect of AR and the opportunity to develop ideas for use in your own personal context. The ARcamp provides the chance to focus on AR and introduces new ways of developing ideas through service design and thinking about delivery, engagement and co-design.
Campers can expect to:
- gain a general awareness of the AR environments
- develop practical skills in building AR
- design learning opportunities for your own use
- have access to technology and equipment
- work collaboratively to develop ideas for AR in education
- share ideas and learn from each other
- build a relationship with the ARstudio to further develop ideas
- have fun (feel free to wear fancy dress)
- listen to cool music whilst you work
ARcamp is targeted at academics, teachers and students throughout schools, colleges, TAFEs and Higher Education who are interested in helping make education more engaging and active. ARcamp is cohosted with the ACT GovCamp where design experts, public engagement specialists, technical and project managers, open data and visualisation developers, user experience and accessibility experts, change managers, service delivery and many others will be on hand to take part.
The ARstudio is funded by the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) and is located at the University of Canberra, INSPIRE centre.
Camping is optional ;)
